Sally Tran loves the exploration of painting, textile art, fabric dying and drawing. Her work is instantly recognisable through her incredible use of colour and negative space.
Sally enjoys the social elements of her art practice, often using connection with peers and her community as a catalyst for her work. Recently Sally exhibited with well know artist Carolyn Cardinet in the Plastic Problems exhibition shown at Bayside City Council and Bayley Arts.
Artist Statement:
Sally described her inspiration for her piece ‘A bit romantic’ with the words: ‘Love and laughter in my community.’ Sally utilised mixed media to create this piece including acrylic paint and chalk pastel to give the piece vibrancy, warmth and texture.
Sallys loves ‘to try new things’ when creating art.
Sally is an early career artist and has exhibited at Bayside City Council over the last two years. Sally’s work has also been featured in a publication by the Australian Council of Learned Academies in 2022 and recently her work has been licensed by a number of organisations for her art to be used in a commercial capacity.
